The Solution

The good news is that no matter the cause, the solution is to get the body the necessary nutrients it needs to restore proper neurotransmitter function and prevent neurotransmitter depletion as much as possible.

You may not be able to control all the factors that can cause neurotransmitter dysfunction, but you can control what you eat, how you handle stress and choose to give your body the nurturing and support necessary to achieve optimal neurotransmitter function, including properly balanced amino acid therapy – this will allow you to overcome any of these deficits and live your life the way you want.

Think of your brain as a bucket that we are trying to fill with neurotransmitters. All of the causes of neurotransmitter imbalance are like holes in the bucket. Properly administered amino acid therapy is like pouring water (neurotransmitters) into that bucket.

We can keep the bucket full by constantly putting in more water; however, this is a lot of work. It makes sense then to try and plug as many of the holes as possible so we can put in less and less water over time to keep the bucket topped off.

The same is true with amino acid therapy. We often use amino acid therapy to fill the brain with neurotransmitters so that people can experience relief from their symptoms. Once this occurs, they will have freed up an incredible amount of energy and motivation because they no longer have to deal with whatever those symptoms were. We then direct that energy towards identifying and addressing each causes of imbalance, in essence, plugging up the holes. This will allow a person to take less amino acids over time while remaining symptom free. Eventually, this can also lead to an elimination for the need of amino acid therapy.

The first step is to speak with a trained health care professional so you can get started with balanced amino acid therapy and start filling the bucket.

I am currently on the Amino Acid protocol, but feel like since my current practioner has relocated I am not getting the best results and feedback. What is the best way to find out more about your practice and the financial cost?

One more question… what test do you give that will determine that I need this therapy? How do you know which amounts I would need?

Hi Dian – there isn’t A test that would be conducted prior to therapy, although we use a pretty extensive interview and health assessment to help us determine how to best address whatever health challenges our client’s are facing.

You can test if vitamins and amino acids are getting into the cells through doing a NutrEval Test. We see a Dr. of Integrative Medicine. He did this for my daughter and it clearly showed her depletion of B vitamins mainly (the MTHFR mutation homozygous is her base issue). We had 20 pages of results and basically a map to her healing. Hope this helps!

    Hi,

How often do you follow up and how are you able to titrate/individualize the protocol? I have tried all the ingredients that make sense to balance my neurotransmitters but haven’t had success so would like to try this protocol. just curious about how its customized. have you had success with advanced neurological lyme?

    thanks!

Hi Alexis – thanks for the comment/question. We normally meet with someone every 1-2 weeks until their dosing is optimized. We will use a combination of questionnaires, testing and interviews to determine how to customize each person’s amino acid dosing. We have not worked with neurological lyme’s disease.

If you have not been working with a provider that is skilled in the use of amino acid therapy, I would highly suggest you do so.

      Good luck!

      Sincerely,

      Dr. Chad

Thank you, i am very interested in it and think frequent follow up is great. Is the entire protocol neuro replete and cys replete? Are all imbalances corrected through correct dosing of those two supplements?

          Hi Alexis,

The NeuroReplete and CysReplete are used prior to the first urine test, but after that, each person will receive customized amino acid dosing plans that will include whatever other products they may need to optimize their neurotransmitter function.

          Hope that helps!

I was taking Paxil CR 12.5 for about 25 years. I just went off of it about three weeks ago. I’m suffering terribly with anxiety insomnia brain fog cognitive issues racing heart shakiness OCD issues among others. My concern is that my brain was so dependent on these meds for so long that I won’t be able to get back to the person I was. Can you help me??

      Hi Laurie,

Thanks for reaching out; your symptoms may very well be from the depletion and/or damage that can be caused by SSRI medications. However, it is also extremely likely that you can correct, or at least compensate for, those imbalances. You’ll need to work with a qualified health care provider in order to determine how to do that, so either give us a call or reach out to NeuroResearch Clinics in Duluth, MN, to see if they have a provider that can assist you. In the meantime, starting on NeuroReplete – 4 capsules 2x/day along with CysReplete – 2 capsules 3x/day would likely be a good place to start that may help ease some of your symptoms.

I hope you are feeling better very soon!

      Sincerely,

      Dr Chad
