There have been some amazing findings published in the last several years in regards to managing the symptoms and progression of Parkinson’s disease using natural methods. Most of these papers have been written or co-written by Marty Hinz, MD. What Dr. Hinz has shown is that it is possible in many cases to manage the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease while eliminating the potentially devastating side effects of the drugs used in the medical treatment of Parkinson’s disease using amino acid therapy.
Dr. Mary Hinz and Parkinson’s Therapy
I began working with Dr. Hinz back in 2001. At that time, much of his focus was on managing appetite in order to facilitate long-term weight loss. Over time, however, it became apparent that amino acid therapy had a much larger application.
The first paper published by Dr. Hinz in relation to Parkinson’s disease was a case study in 2011. This paper provided insight into a novel approach using the most effective therapy for Parkinson’s disease (L-dopa) which had the potential to help millions of people suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
However, it was a couple landmark papers published in 2014 that really brought Dr. Hinz’s approach to Parkinson’s disease into the national spotlight. The first paper showed that the most popular medications used to treat Parkinson’s disease (carbidopa and benserazide) could potentially cause a “nutritional catastrophe” in the body. This was shown to happen because of the adverse effect these drugs have on vitamin B6 and all the functions that vitamin B6 and B6-dependent enzymes have in the human body. The end result, according to this research, was that carbidopa may contribute to the worsening of Parkinson’s disease and the increase in the Parkinson’s disease death rate seen since the introduction of these medications.
This paper was followed by a second paper showing that carbidopa and/or benserazide may by be the causative agent of the irreversible dyskinesias associated with the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Again, the mechanism of action was found to be the “irreversible binding and inactivation of vitamin B6 throughout the body”.
A More Effective and Safer Approach to Parkinson’s disease
Based on the research of Dr. Mary Hinz, a safer and more effective approach to Parkinson’s therapy exists. The successful implementation of Dr. Hinz’s Parkinson’s Therapy requires a thorough understanding of the underlying factors that cause the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and many years of practice, but the results can be amazing. Learn more about the causes and implementation of this therapy and if you are ready to get started, please contact us.
What about your amino acid therapy and people suffering from Schizophrenia?
What is you recommendation

My name is Clarence Hoyle an I am the husband of Florine Hoyle who has Parkinson for about 2 years. Doctors have given the normal Parkinson medicine (Carbidopa-Levodopa 25-100 Tab,Ropinipole HCL 2mg,and Topiramate 50mg). The medicine do nothing for her but make her cough and produce lots of mucus. Her physical symptoms are left arm and hand shaking. Left leg and feet slow to keep pace with the right side. She has gone to three doctors for this problem. All of the doctors indicate this being in the early stages.
My question to you is: Is it possible for Florine to be a good candidate for your program? If so please send me the steps of starting the program along with the estimated cost along with how long this program may last?
Hi Clarence/Florine –

Have many friends with Parkinson’s who could use some help. Have info on Nrf2 & Nrf1 which could benefit them and thought when reviewing your article that I would also follow up on what you have to offer. One of my friends is a retired MD. Thank you – Chuck K, Rph
Hi Chuck,
Thanks for contacting us; I apologize for my delinquent response. Apparently, we were having some website issues (!) and I didn’t see your post until today.
I would suggest your friends start by contacting NeuroSupport to see if there is a provider near them: https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/. If there is not, they can contact us to get started.

My uncle has been diagnosed as having Parkinson’s disease. He is 82 years old and in good health otherwise. He has been following the advise of his MD and taking the typical pharmacological regimen. His right hand shakes at times and he has a decrease in energy. He and my aunt live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is a retired Civil Service employee and has excellent health insurance. He has three adult children living near him who are available to assist as needed. He is a good man with many people who admire him. I am hopeful that Amino Acid Therapy may work to help him. How shall we proceed?
Hi Earle,
I would suggest you first contact NeuroSupport to see if there is a provider near your uncle: https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/. If there is not, please have them contact us.

My wife has had Parkinsons disease for ~33 years We tried a doctor in southern Calif. who was purportedly using Heinz therapy. But $2000 later later realized he was not requiring urine analysis.
Hi William,
This is incredibly unfortunate; when you contact NeuroSupport (https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/) I would be sure and tell them of your experience. Urine testing is critical in determining the proper amino acid dosing, especially in cases of dopamine dominance like Parkinson’s disease. I am very sorry to hear of your experience and hope you find another provider that can provide you the support and guidance you need.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
William, were you able to find another provider in Southern California?
I would love to contact a doctor that Dr. Hinz has trained
Hi William – please contact NeuroSupport: https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/ -they should be able to find a provider near you –
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
I have Parkinson’s and though I am open to accept that amino acid therapy as per Marty Hinz may assist in lessening the symptoms of Parkinsons, I remain sceptical. Could you please send me more information?
Hi Gary – I think a bit of skepticism is healthy; here are some links for more information: https://www.neurosupport.com/ and http://www.naturalsolutionsforparkinsonsdisease.com –
Happy reading –
Dr Chad
I live in New Zealand. Do you have any Dr Hinz trained Doctors in Auckland, New Zealand as I cannot travel. Alternatively can I have the treatment from here?
Hi Warren – I do not know of any practitioners in New Zealand (in fact, we have 5 clients from New Zealand working with us via skype as they could not find a provider). However, I would suggest you contact NeuroSupport to determine if they know of a provider in your area: https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/.
Good luck!

I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 2001 and am an 81 year old man in excellent health except for Parkinsons. I was a runner, a hiker and worked out 4 x a week for years.
I have had Deep Brain Stimulation surgery on both sides of the brain in 2010 and 2011. It has helped my tremors but not my ability to walk which is progressing.
My question is: since I have swallowing issues, I wonder if all these pills, so many of them (over 50 a day) can be taken by LIQUID.
Also, I live in an Assisted Living community and wonder if coming down from all the medications (sinemet, etc.) would create a problem for people who take care of me.
Hi Harvey,
Thanks for contacting us; we generally use powders when possible to minimize the number of pills a person has to take; in this case, you would likely need to swallow only 6-8 capsules/day.
As for the assisted living community, you would certainly want to get their okay ahead of time, as it is very important to get the doses in at specific times during the day.
Dr. Chad
I am the spouse of an 81 year old man with Parkinsons. Do you have a list of doctors in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, CA who have been trained in the administration of amino acid therapy? Also is it true that one has to take 53 pills a day?
Hi Danielle,
You can see if there is a provider in your area by contacting NeuroSupport: https://www.neurosupport.com/contact-information/; if not, we may be able to work with you.
We generally use powders when possible to minimize the number of pills a person has to take:)

Hi, I have been on the Amino Acid Therapy since 2011 my first test was 12/6/2011. I believe that people can not believe that I do as well as I do.
If it wasn’t for my tremors in my left hand they do not know that I have PD they do not bother me all the time and I am working on getting them stopped, I just have not hit the magic spot yet..
I can still type and play my guitar. I have taken one half of a Carb/lebo per day but have discontinued that just the Amino Acids.
When I have my annual checkups at Mayo they say I just have a mild case of PD
I have other idea’s about diet and sleeping, I can tell you that my toes were numb and I could not have any covers on my feet, well my brother is a chiro and said I should try some essential oil well let me tell you it worked, I now put some on my feet every night. I could go on but I must stop and pack leaving for AZ for the winter.
Hi Darrell – thanks for replying to this post; I am very glad you are doing so well! This is not at all uncommon, as we can usually help optimize physical and mental functioning in those with Parkinson’s disease using amino acid therapy.
I hope you have fun and enjoy the winter in AZ!
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
What essential oils are you using?
Sorry, I have not replied sooner, I use Daisy Blue It is comfort Therapeutic body oil, already mixed.

I was diagnosed with PD in 2006 and two years ago I had deep brain stimulation surgery. Overall, I feel so much better but I still shuffle and feel so worn out just walking a few feet. I am taking carbidopa/levadopa extended release but a friend of mine was diagnosed just a couple of years ago and is taking Mucuna Pruriens and seems to be doing very well with it. His family can’t believe the difference. My concern is that I’m too far along, plus my dr said it can be dangerous if you don’t get the amounts right. Do you think I would benefit from taking it and how would I know how much to take?
Hi Pamela – thanks for contacting us.
Amino acid therapy may still be an option for you, but working with a provider with experience working with PD will be vital. To find a provider near you, please contact NeuroResearch at http://www.neurosupport.com. If there is not a provider near you, please follow the steps on this page: http://naturalsolutionsforparkinsonsdisease.com/getting-started-with-amino-acid-therapy-faqs/ so we can gather some more information to determine if we would be a good fit for you.

Dear Dr. Chad,
My Boyfriend has been doing Amino Acid Therapy for 7 months with one of Dr. Hinz’s recommended Dr.’s in our area. He was diagnosed at age 34, 20 years ago.
He experienced horrible dyskinesia when taking the Sinemet, but still has dyskinesia with the Mucuna. The more he takes the longer it lasts and the worse he gets. he also has terrible nausea and when we raise the Mucuna after doing a pill stop, he vomits, even though he takes ginger pills before every dose. I now feel we cannot go any higher than the equivalent of 16 pills at a time (in poweder form), but he seems to need more to reach his full potential. We have done 2 OCT tests. The last one had him low on Tyrosine, and he now takes 30 pills a day of That. It has helped with the on/off effect somewhat. He is still very low on energy, weak, and feels horrible when it starts to wear off. He wants to give up, but I dont feel we have any good alternatives, and this was stated as not having any side effects. I dont know if our Dr. is good at this or handling our situation well enough. Would you be able to give us some insight?
Hi Stacy – thanks for contacting us. His dopamine fluctuations may be contributing/exacerbating or even causing his nausea/vomiting and must be addressed ASAP to keep him moving forward. In the meantime, his doc should be adjusting his serotonin precursors to improve the nausea. I would suggest using powders for both the mucuna and the tyrosine to make it more tolerable. If you continue to have issues, please contact us and set up an initial consultation; I’d be happy to help in any way that I can.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
Hello! My husband is 43 and recently diagnosed with Parkinsons early stage. He has tremors, stiffness, shuffling, weakness, no energy. We are desperate to find an alternative to medicine. We are currently watching diet, taking mega doses of vitamins and CBD oil and while they are helping, its not enough. What do you recommend from here? any input would be so greatly appreciated!
Hi Heidi – thanks for the comment/question. I would recommend you begin working with a provider that is well versed in using amino acid therapy with Parkinson’s; we are not currently accepting new clients, but are likely to begin again in November, so you can contact us to get on our waiting list. If you’d like to get started immediately, please contact NeuroResearch to find a provider near you: http://www.neurosupport.com.

Dear Dr. Chad,
Do you know any lab in Belgium or other European country that could do the OCT assay interpretation?
Kind regards,
M Vermeulen
Greetings Vermeulen – I do not know of any labs in Europe that are doing OCT assay interpretation at the moment. However, Dr. Hinz informed me that they discussed forming an international company to work with amino acid therapy at the training this past weekend in Chicago, so there may be something in the works. Be sure to check back with us and http://www.neurosupport.com for details in the coming months.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
Dr Chad,
Greetings form Hungary!
I am 70 and was diagnosed with PD nine month ago. I am not taking any of the standard drugs, just very little mannitol (2g) + omega-3 capsules, and EGCG with quercetin.
Would like to start Amino Acid Therapy if seems sensible.
Wonder whether Dr. Hinz could make any progress in setting up a company in Europe. Would be great if I could assist him in this work.
Hi Dr. Bruck – nothing in Europe yet, however, Dr. Hinz did start up an international PD site/group – here is the contact information: https://parkinsonsclinics.com/index.php.
Good luck!
Sincerely,
Dr Chad
Send from Portugal,
My name is Valérie Melo, I am 47 old years.
In 2014, I have been tested FMR1 premutation carrier, and was diagnosed with Fragile X–associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS), and Fragile X-associated Primary Ovarian Failure, FXPOF.
My symptoms are anxiety, intention tremor, rigidity, slow movement, muscle pain, constipation , dystonia (in fase OFF, at the end of ldopa action), balance troubles, neuropathy.
In addition, in 2016, although I keep going with appetite, I have lost 15kg.
At this time, my medication is:
7h: sinemet 250 + amantadina 100mg
10h: sinemet 250
12h: pramipexol 1,05mg
15h: sinemet 250 + amantadina 100mg
19h: 1/2 sinemet 250
23h: sinemet CR 200
After about 2 years of conventional treatment with Ldopa, I began to experience severe and painful muscle contractions (dystonia), feet, ankle muscles, back muscles and arms muscles.
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis too.
So, I would like to know, if Amino Acid Therapy could be helpful in my situation?
Thanks you very much for your answer.
With my best regards.
Valérie Melo

Does this therapy have any application for people with essential tremor (not Parkinson’s)? Do you know of anyone having success in that area?
Hi Linda,
This is a great question and one that we are asked from time-to-time. Amino acid therapy is used with essential tremor; we are currently working with 5 people with various forms of essential tremor and have worked with several others in the past. You could also contact Parkinson’s Clinics to see if they have any information for you: https://parkinsonsclinics.com/index.php.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad
Hello! I spoke with someone in your office and they said you are no longer taking new patients and she referred me to the same website/phone number as you have above for possible practitioners. She also said I could not be added to the waiting list because you have people still on the list from November 2017. As it seems this case is not unusual for doctors providing this amino acid therapy for Parkinson’s patients, my question is how am I to know if and when you start accepting new patients again? And also, if I can’t get on the waiting list now, do I just keep calling back every week? Why not just add me so you don’t have to have me pester you constantly? 🙂 Thanks!
Hi JR,
Thanks for contacting us (again:)) – I apologize for the misunderstanding. My office manager has been out the last several weeks and it seems we are providing inaccurate information to people that call in.
We do have a pretty long waiting list, but you can certainly get on it; please contact either call the clinic again or contact us via this form: http://naturalpathhealthcenter.com/contact-us/ and we’ll get your information to get on the waiting list.
Again, I apologize for the rig-amoral and hope to be speaking with you soon –
Sincerely,
Dr Chad
Hi
I would like to know when the next seminar on Aminoacid therapy will be.
Thank you
Hi Shirley,
Thanks for your interest! Unfortunately, we don’t have any planned in the near future, as we have just kicked off a 2 year international tour teaching health care providers how to correct cardiovascular disease. However, I know that there are several seminars being conducted by Marty Hinz, MD around the US yet this year; you can find out more information here: http://www.neurosupport.com.
Sincerely,
Dr Chad
