I’ve been asked to tell you how Dr. Oler’s guidance and Amino Acid Therapy has impacted my life. Before I can do that I think I have to try and give you an idea of what my life was like before I started taking amino acids. I was 11 when my Mom figured out I had OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and TTM (trichotillomania). We didn’t tell our family doctor for two years because my Mom used to be a nurse and didn’t want me taking drugs like Prozac. Instead, my parents travelled thousands of miles taking me to so many doctor’s I can’t even remember them all. They all said they could help me but they never did. (more…)

Anti-histamines are one of the top sellers at drugstores and retailers nationwide. They are used for a wide variety of disorders, including seasonal allergies, hay fever, asthma, sleep disturbance, multiple chemical sensitivities, hives, rashes and even acid reflux. The problem with this approach is that anti-histamine based drugs simply block the histamine receptor (which inhibits the negative effects from occurring);they do not help eliminate histamine or address the reason histamine levels are elevated. This is why people often need to use anti-histamine medications ongoing; when the anti-histamine medication ‘wears-off’ a person must take more of it because they haven’t addressed the root imbalance.
